The special session on 2016 Amatrice earthquake will be held in room Saturnia, Wednesday 7 September 17:45 – 19:15.
Dear participants to the ESC Assembly in Trieste,
Less than a week ago a M6 earthquake struck central Italy between Amatrice and Norcia causing almost 300 fatalities.
The ESC organising committee has decided to organize a special, 90 minutes long dedicated session on the earthquake. Since many groups have started to analyze the recorded data and others have gone to the epicentral area to acquire new ones, this session can be a very first opportunity to share the preliminary findings. It follows that, whoever is interested to present his or her initial results or acquired data, is most welcome to send a short abstract to the local organising committee (email@example.com) and to Alberto Michelini of INGV (firstname.lastname@example.org) who is organising the session.
The session will have an initial descriptive lecture by an INGV representative followed by a number of short presentations (~5 short talks, ~5-10 minutes long) to be selected out of those submitted, and a final, open debate part in which the relevant aspects that emerged from the previous talks will be addressed and discussed.
Those interested are kindly asked to send he abstracts as soon as possible and not later than this coming Friday September 2nd.
Thank you for the cooperation and we are looking forward to receiving important and interesting contributions.
